15 watts tube amps

In a few months I'll have a 10 watt SE 6L6 based amp, with my Hellfire preamp in it. Should be a great small recording amp!

Does the Mesa Express line have enough gain for "modern" metal tones? Can it do anything heavier then Metallica?

What do you mean heavier than Metallica? :guh: But it's actually really funny that EVERYBODY plays Metallica licks with that amp on youtube

But seriously: put a tubescreamer in front of it, and you should be in the "metal zone" (no pun intended). :heh:

I can probably sell em for under $800 as well. Less parts means better price (and easier to build)

Can you do a 240v version Wolfe? and are you allowed to sell to Australia? Would definately be pretty keen to be one of your first customers on one of these! :worship:

Also, do your amps come with a line out (incorportating the power section) or just a preamp out for people like myself who record using impulses?

Cheers

Phil

I am also interested in these "15-25 watt" amps, specifically the ones for metal.

Upon my research, there are many:

Krank Rev Jr
Blackstar HT-20
Jet City JCA20
Mesa Express 5:25
ENGL Gigmaster
Orange Tiny Terror (in which you already have)

A lot of these amps will benefit/need a boost to get into the territory in which you want.

There is also Egnater amps, specifically the Tweaker/Rebel, but I have not tried any of these myself and have gotten mixed opinions on what gain level these amps can achieve with a TS.

Good to know. The higher the gain the better.

I'll have to try the T-Screamer/Express combination, before buying my new micro watt.

So far it's between a Blackstar HT, a Krank Rev Jr Pro, and (now) a Mesa Express.

We'll see how it goes. Maybe even a Wolfe amp, if they are ready soon...

^This!!!

I want my self a mini hellfire, UK version.

+1 to Mesa Express

+1 to Blackstar (these little fuckers sound pretty good!)

also, the new Rectifiers have a 10W setting, I do believe.

but that's getting a bit into expensive territory.

I only buy transformers with dual primaries, so yes they work in any country.

My FX loop send is +4, so it's a line out bypassing the power section. and it's usable while on standby, so no cab needs to be plugged in if you want to be completely silent.
