In no particular order:

Meshuggah - obZen
Cavalera Conspiracy - Inflikted ( the doom of all fires rules!)
Nine Inch Nails - Ghosts ( for the innovative distribution alone to say the least )
Septic Flesh ( can't wait to hear the whole thing )
Heaven and Hell - live album
Alchemist - Tripsis ( it's a 2007 release but I just got it anyway )

already in march !

For the moment, 2 albums kicked my ass :
- Biomechanical - Cannibalized
- Hellhammer - Demon Entrails (Even if I've got already the original demos, this one was really interesting to buy).

EDIT : the flop of the year :

The next Cryptopsy album.
Oh my god ! I've listened to 2 songs.
I'm horrified...

You mean, Emopsy? Whatever happened to that other band that wrote None So Vile? ... I bet it's all Jon Levasseur's fault for quitting heheh

2008 Decrepit birth ?
Shit, I add this one in my list too !

Yeah, it's an amazing disc. It sounds modern while still giving off that old-school death metal vibe ala Death/Atheist/Cynic/Pestilence. :kickass:

The 2 others, are in my wishlist :)

Excellent! Humanoid is the solo project of Augury's Mathieu Marcotte; I believe some drum tracks for the album were recorded at Bart's studio.

Yeah for decrepit birth!
Origin - Antithesis
Bloodbath - Unblessing the Purity (although not as good as RTC)
And I can;t wait for Augury. that Gallo video was enough to make my mouth water (at the music, not at the drummer ;))

yeah, this album is more progressive than the 1st. For black metal fans (Emperor), this album is a deception, for progressive fans they prefer Opeth.
I'm in the middle because I love Emperor and Opeth. I love the new Ihsahn album, especially because there are also others musics in (Jazz for example).

Else, I recommend a french atmospheric black metal band called Orakle :

They play a black metal between Emperor and Arcturus. It's really good !
The song "Depossedes" on their myspace (from their new album) is really really great !

Sounds very early/mid 90s ... I'm quite surprised there are still bands that play this type of black metal...
Regarding Ihsahn's new one, hmmm... too many quiet parts for my taste, I agree with you on the Opeth comparison...
