2016 Charvel San Dimas - Overview & Demo

Charvel fanboy here. A fan of all eras of Charvel. And their biggest mistake for these 2016 models is definitely the control layout. I bought a new pickguard for my 2014 model, and copied the 2016 layout to try it out. Quite possibly the worst volume knob placement I've ever encountered. It's not only too close to the selector switch (so you bump it with your fingertips when rolling off) but the back of your hand is obstructed by the tremolo arm collar too.

Having said that, Charvel is life, absolute tone monsters. Great vid dude.

I hate DiMarzio pups... and prefer the 3 way toggle... blade switches bite. Give me a SD JB & a 3 way.

My main guitar is a Charvel 750XL since the 1990's. Then I've bought a SoCal Pro Mod last year which is very similar to the San Dimas in ProgressiveRoccos video, but with a more "standard" control layout.
As much as I like the fantastic neck and the look of the guitar, I find the sound to be quite 1980's (as it is intended by Charvel). For metal on the heftier side of things, I cannot recommend this guitar.
