3 days left to apply for teh university

my theory abotu college ... and I will tell this tomy kids if any women will bear my seed.

go to college only if you want to study something that will "definetelly" require a degree, like:

doctor
lawyer
engineer
accountant
etc ...

DO NOT go to college if you want to do something like:
any entertainment type field
business
computers

all those you are better off working your ass off in some entry level job in the field you choose and you will get more knowledge and practical experience that way ... not too mention you get paid.

just my opinion...

I followed in the proud tradition of my dad and grandfather.

the grandfather went to the Colorado School of Mines, and then turned around and worked in the stock market.

the father went to Harvard and got a degree in Psychology, and then joined the army for 25 years.

I get a degree in political science from UNH and go to work for the federal govt. as (now) a computer assistant, GS-335-07.

2) Education, needed or not, can never be a negative thing

you are right about this no doubt.

try to go away to college then ... so you will live on your own ... one thing I could not do back in the days.

consider it like a boot camp for the life ahead. :loco:

Ooh, Henrik is studying to be a lawyer. ;)

I agree with lurch's advice. Except here substitute "college" for "university". As you do need training in a (real) technical college to prove you can do the skills required.

Go for something which will make money and have available jobs if you're going to uni. Don't choose something artsy, since that way you'll waste a lot of money and/or time and still be unemployed when it's over.

If I were to study something again, it would have to be literature or something in that vein. Other than that, I had a good time getting my master's in english. Maybe you could consider that, as it seems like you've got a decent grasp on the language already.

You obviously understand computers and stuff like that, why not study computer science, engineering, or something along those lines.

I got a degree in creative writing, became a banker, and I'm now a farmer. No matter what you study in college, make sure you have fun doing it.

I started out majoring in Computer Science, switched to Undecided, then switched to Geology, then switched to Kinesiology, then finally switched to Creative Writing. I also could have gone one more semester to get a second degree in Anthropology.

But I mostly chased girls, drank beer, lifted weights, and played guitar in my college band. Oh . . . and I met my wife right before graduating. My degree didn't accomplish much for me, but I feel like college was more than worth the money I spent on it.

College education in the Midwest: $15,000
Beer while at college: $15,000
Beer you buy for girls while at college: $15,000
Finding your wife while at college: Priceless

 I met her at a bar.
