I'm new and you guys don't seem to like newbies, but take it easy on me.
The three questions are:
1. What is "Emo"?
2. What is a "troll"?
3. What bands do you like, but don't like to admit to. For instance, I like Elton John(old stuff), System of A Down (sometimes), and Simon and Garfunkel.

Emo is shitty music. Whiny vocals about relationships and average teen problems.

Trolls are posters that act a certain way to get a rise out of people.

For an example of trolling, see Slipknot are Tr00, Infoterror, and BlackMetalTyrant (though the latter frequently doesn't realize he's trolling.)

Killswitch Engage and As I Lay Dying are the abomination called "emo metal"/"screamo"/"emocore"/whatever the fuck it is; emo pussies trying to play metal. Emo without pretensions at being anything else (besides their normal pretensions) would be Modest Mouse, Bright Eyes, and shit like that.
