i found lots of things wrong with that list.
the following is not metal:
skid row
def leppard

whats next, linkin park?

The Def Leppard song in that list is heavier than the Judas Priest one. As for "Slave to the Grind" not being metal? There's really no reply to that, other than, "Have you ever even heard that song FFS?"

yeag, they even conicder iron butterfly metal.
Yeah but these were early metal songs... bart of the evolution of metal.
P.S. Alice Cooper was the first act to ever be called Heavy Metal by the way.

I don't know about metal but def a link or root to what would become metal.
While everyone wants to credit Sabbath as the birth of metal, I think Deep Purple did just as much if not more to help mold the sound. Double bass drums, screaming vocals over the top guitar solos.

by the way....

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida, stayed on the charts for 140 weeks, with 81 weeks in the Top Ten. To date the album has sold in excess of 30 million copies and remains an undisputed classic in the archives of rock with DJ's and audiophiles worldwide.

pretty fucking great for a 17 minute song, this album has probably out sold everything else on that list

I don't know what's funnier the fact that vh1 is running yet another list show or, that people are actually on here bitching about it. only a couple more years and we get "I love the 2000's" :Puke:

I remember watching an interview with Papa Roach's Coby Dick and all he said half the time is, "Ya know what I'm sayin'!"

I gotta say....the best thing about being single is being able to fuck whoever you want. The second best thing about being single..? Not having to sit through bullshit television be it reality, vh1, E channel, and the OC.
