VH1s "40 Greatest Metal Songs"

Its not THAT bad. What do you expect...its going to be middle of the road heavy rock and metal, not some obscure death / black metal. Its quite a nice reminder of stuff pre-nineties, late eighties actually.

war pigs is better than iron man though

That list sucks, it's a lot of the same bands with just different songs. VH1 clearly doesn't have a good grasp of what good metal is. Plus "iron man" is #1, sorry but my friend plays that song all the time, fucking annoying.

well seeing as iron man is obviously the greatest metal song of all time, they made the right choice there

All just a matter of personal taste. Obviously you like black sabbath, me not so much.

Ones that ought to be in there (and aren't) include:

Prong - Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck
Black Sabbath - War Pigs
Type O Negative - Love You To Death/Black No1
Sepultura - Inner self
Machine Head - The Blood the Sweat the Tears/Old
Deftones - Minerva/Digital Bath/Be Quiet and Drive
Judas Priest - Freewheel Burning
Celtic Frost - Circle Of Tyrants
S.O.D. - Sargeant D and the SOD
Testament - Burnt Offerings
Overkill - Hello From The Gutter
Suicidal Tendencies - You Can't Bring Me Down/How Will I Laugh Tomorrow
Ministry - Jesus Built My Hotrod
WASP - Wild Child
Iron Maiden - Phantom of the Opera/Remember Tomorrow
Life Of Agony - Method of Groove

'greatest songs ever' lists are always fucking stupid, but there's some good stuff on this one. could have been much much much worse.
