44th President of the USA

Gods, I hope Clinton doesn't get the nomination. Out of the Democrats, there's only two I'd consider voting for, but won't be. The Republicans have one guy I'd vote for, and I'm hoping he makes it past the primary. Otherwise I'll be writing in, just like the last 2 elections.

I wish the masses would let someone worthy of the office make it past the primaries. Very dis-heartening.

Does Hillary share her husband's ideas for foreign policy?

For the most part yes. If you take what she says literally then you'll say no, however. She needs to be able to appeal to both sides, so obviously she'll say something like "We need to get the troops out of Iraq and restore our relationships with the rest of the world" somewhere and then say "Obama is naive for wanting to be overly diplomatic" somewhere else. Every candidate is doing this- even Ron Paul (who I love btw). In order to win, you need to pander to both sides. The most centrist "opinions" are the ones who get nominated.

If you recall, Bush initially ran as a "moderate Conservative"... lol

I would expect Hillary to share her husband's ideas due to the fact that she was a huge presence during Bill's administration and indeed made a positive impact despite what some would say. I highly doubt that her husband would allow her to make the same mistakes as Bush did. Just like the typical first lady (or in Bill's case- man), Bill would be an influence in Hillary's administration.

One can only hope, although I'm still hoping Obama gets the party nomination at the moment.

As far as politicians go I've actually been really happy with Schwarzenegger as governor. I'm kind of hoping he runs for a Senate/House seat after he terms out in 2010. :goggly:

Yanno, I don't live in California- but I LOVE Schwarzenegger as a politician. I did not expect him to handle his position so well.

And yes, Obama is who I want most to get the nomination.

Same here on Schwarzenegger, I live in Texas, okay so shoot me, but remember I am a transplanted Georgia boy. By the way I do not like Bush.

On the Demo side I agree with you whole-heartedly. On the Rep side i am really torn, Thompson or the rest.

It is really who do we want , and what direction do we want the country to go in. I can't take another Bush like era.
Maybe we can write in our own candidate. Thank God we have a year to find out about all of them

Dodd is probably closest to my views but I don't think he will get the nomination so Obama I suppose is the best of the three Democratic front runners. No way I could vote for a Republican.

Hmmm..... I really think everyone should just pencil my name in for President. I think being President would be cool. >:P~

In all seriousness, I wouldn't want the responsibility, but I have also found that discussing politics is not for me. I am well educated in my personal opinions mind you, but I tend to find a way to offend conservatives and liberals alike. I tend to get attacked by both sides.... so I will just say vote Libertarian. I do not follow their idealogy 100% by any means, but a change is needed and we need someone in office that doesn't have the asses and elephants tugging at their cuffs.

Thank goodness!

 My thoughts exactly. This whole man-made global warming...excuse me 'climate change'...has become a new religion to some. Of course, becasue I don't buy into this whole notion that man has had any real effect on global climate change, I'm dismissed as some sort of nazi equivalent.

Time Magazine article from July 24, 1974 entitled "Another Ice Age?" Here's the first paragraph:
"As they review the bizarre and unpredictable weather pattern of the past several years, a growing number of scientists are beginning to suspect that many seemingly contradictory meteorological fluctuations are actually part of a global climatic upheaval. However widely the weather varies from place to place and time to time, when meteorologists take an average of temperatures around the globe they find that the atmosphere has been growing gradually cooler for the past three decades. The trend shows no indication of reversing. Climatological Cassandras are becoming increasingly apprehensive, for the weather aberrations they are studying may be the harbinger of another ice age."

What about the 10,000 delegates who flew all the way to Bali?

Couldn't they have held it in Brussels?

Wasn't the idea to hold it in an area effected by climate change or that will be most effected? But yeah, they could've held it somewhere more convenient.

I still get tired of the idiots driving around in Hummers, Excursions, or the guys in F350s that have don't have a legitimate need or use for the stupid things.

Effected by climate change? How about Antarctica? Oh, wait, there aren't nice beaches and surf in Antarctica....

Oh, I get tired of it all the time, and chortle over all the money they're wasting on fuel while I cruise by in my 40 mpg Ford. Needless waste is stupid, regardless of whether it causes climate change or not...and it probably doesn't.

Sidenote: for whatever reason, The Global Warming Swindle seems to have been removed from Google Video. I'm truly glad I had a chance to watch it while it was available! (BBC4 might have had it pulled if they're planning on offering the DVD or something....or there could be other, more sinister forces at work.)

I'm kind of curious to see if rising demand leading to increasing prices will drive down usage/increase efficiency. Or we could always let Shell turn a sizable section of Wyoming/Utah/Colorado wilderness into sludge to get oil out of shale.
