I'm a music teacher, so today I decided we were going to learn about respecting each other's musical tastes. So they had to endure the full length of "The Moor" :).
Surprisingly, many of them thought it was pretty cool, though most of them didn't understand why the vocalist was growling. They did not see the point.
I explained it is another form of art, and that I didn't understand why rappers had to talk. Heh.
It was funny to watch their faces while they listened, it was priceless.

METAL FOREVER.

First ~ I wish I had you as a music teacher when I was 14.

The kids think it's kinda cool that their teacher is a metalhead hehe. A lot of the girls are into Ozzy Osbourne these days (surprise surprise), so I'm working hard so that they get into his first albums

I hope you will not be accused for being a Satan worshipper and get fired.

Lol. When I first started out as a teacher the kids thought I was a Satan worshipper. They asked me if Opeth were satanic. I told them, no no, this is romantic death metal, it's complex and music made with the heart, not the computer.

New teachers at school do wonder about me though, as I wear my spiked belts and metal T-shirts at work

It was a great idea to introduce Opeth to your students, but were your students mature enough to understand and appreciate Opeth for what it really is, not just "growling"?

Heeeey you live in Norway, I can't believe you got away with that, if people did anything simmilar around where I live (Bergen), they'd have to be 'Satanists' without furher ordeal, anyone who wears black clothes and listen to growly music is Satanists. It's the aftermath of the curch burnin', isnt' getting any better now with that corpse defiling....
