7-string STRINGS - D'Addario EXL120-7

Hey, are here any D'ADDARIO EXL120-7 users?
(Gauges: 009-011-016-w024-w032-w042-w054)

I used to use the D'ADDARIO EXL110-7 (010-013-017-w026-w036-w046-w059) sets on my Carvins but I want to switch back to 009 gauge strings.

So here is my question:
The EXL120-7 set has only a 054 string for the low B. Is this too light?
I really liked the 059 as a low B string.


BTW Earnie Ball strings are too expensive for me. Dean Markley have to same gauge as the D'Addarios...

You could buy a 09-42 d'addario set and buy a 059 single string separately. I do the same but with a 10-52 set and 070 single strings, although I'm thinking of going to a lower gauge.

Dunno about that gauge, but I got 10-46s with a 56 and its just right for me, even in A, but most of the time I play in B. I read somewhere that Dino uses and recommends light gauge strings for more presence and cut.

You could always check out the GHS 7 string set...10-60. I like it a lot and it is pretty cheap.

Mind you, I might think about ordering some custom string sets online soon to have 10-52 and then an extra 70.

I kinda just got used to the low 54 to be honest. Give it a shot first at least.
