I love doom metal. In fact: I really love good doom metal, and those of you that are into this type of music as well, will admit that its hard to find good doom out there.
I also have to say that I hate clichés and I hate using them, but since I have found a GREAT doom metal band, I’d let myself say: “better late than ever!”

People have told me for so long, that since My Dying Bride and Anathema are considered to be on the top of my list, I would enjoy a band called Novembers Doom. For some odd reason I never managed to check them out until recently.
A friend sent me two of their cds couple of weeks ago, and ever since then-
“The Knowing” and “To Welcome the Fade” spin constantly inside of my cd player.

What I like mostly about Novembers Doom is that they are absolutely not a catchy band. Not one of those bands that after one spin, you know all the songs by heart. That’s why at first, it was hard for me to get into their music.
I like to hear unique songs, deep lyrics, good guitars and a passionate vocalist. (and that’s what most doom bands out there are lacking)
It took me a week to get their music into my head and I loved every song I heard.
The slow ones, the faster tunes, its all so well done, that I kick myself hard for not getting to know them sooner.

Both of those cds are great! I love those doom/ death vocals! The amazing switch between clean vocals to growls and also the fact that the female vocals come on the right time (and not too much) and fit so well together with paul’s vocals.
I love the blues/ rock guitar touches on “The Knowing” and the heavy tunes on “To Welcome The Fade”
The music is perfectly slow, sad and deep, yet you never get bored nor depressed.
All fits in the right place. Now, where was I again, and why haven’t I checked them out earlier???

I would like to send a HUGE thankyou for my friend who sent me both of those cds.
I would defiantly check the rest of their stuff as well, and be a member of this forum.

Hello Karen,

First, welcome to the forum! You'll find most of the band posts here, and im sure they'll be saying hello at some point!

I'm quite happy you like our music. Everything you wrote about us was very honest, and that makes it more enjoyable for us to read. Hopefully you'll find our other releases just as good. We put the same amount of effort into every release, and they are all slightly different from one another, so there's bound to be something in them for you as well!

Hopefully we'll be making our way out east again soon, and we'll get the chance to say hello in person.

Regardless of whether it happened sooner or later, thanks much for checking us out and all the positive comments! We may not be what most would call a true "doom" band anymore but we do still put the same emotion and heart into what we do now as we did before. You'll find as you eventually listen to our older material that the band has evolved and experimented over the years, and in my opinion, no two discs sound the same. So we'll be interested to hear your comments on those older cds whenever you finally hear them. We know our music can sometimes take a while to fully appreciate and I'm sure thats worked against us in the past but nevertheless we just write what feels right to us naturally and hope for the best haha.
We're finishing up the writing just now for the next cd, and as per usual, it's going to be a bit different from the last, but I believe its still unmistakably ND. Can't wait for you all to hear it.

Anyhow, thanks for checking us out and welcome to the forum. Almost all of us in the band frequent the forum regularly (except Joe, who is in the stone ages and still trying to figure out how to build his own computer out of concrete and twine) so feel free to ask us any questions you may have. And beware, for while we may take our music seriously, everyone here tends to be a bunch of silly fucks alot of times! All good naturedly, though.

thankyou for the warm welcome, both of you !

something that i forgot to mention in my post was the fact that i have noticed the evolution in your music- and loved it.

well done, guys!

im known as an honest reviewer. if i listen to something i dont like- i'd be the first to say it out loud, and rest assured that i digged your albums and thats as honest as it gets.

good luck with the new album!
and Paul, make sure to let me know when you guys are on tour and might be in my area, we'll have a beer! :)

Oh and Paul if you guys get out here again, find me. I want to see how much vodka a 97 Ford Crown Victoria's trunk can hold.

woohoo, it is awesome to see another fan of this wonderful band. When there are so many good bands out there in the many genres, it is hard to "find" them all on their first day. The important thing is that one finally does come to find various band's great music be it from magazines, zines, word of mouth(friends, online message board friends, etc).

Hello Karen! I guess I will have similiar thing to say over at AR's board as thanks to you and Kris, I finally found them. Tons of cds in our collections yet still so many awesome bands that need support- metal is awesome:Spin:
