A Clip of My Music For you:

sounds good--cool guitar tone...i'm curious to hear what the vocals would be like....

I would try to randomize the volume of the drum hits (a little more?) to make it sound less like a drum machine if you're not going to use a real drummer. for instance at one part you've got the ride going hella fast, clearly the drummer would be playing with two hands, right? so have the hits with the right hand eqed a little different than those of the left hand...granted, maybe this is just for songwriting purposes....

What amp are you using for guitar? What environment did you record it in? Seems like maybe you could use a little better mic placement, but it might just be the amp...Solos could be a little louder...snare could be sharper, maybe a little more presence...then again it sounds pretty good so I can go fuck myself.

Dude, I liked it. Wish I could have such a great tone with my equipment (jackson dinky + v-amp 2 + gx-700)

Could you provide me the drum samples you used? some cymbals weren't that much good, but they could be tweaked a little bit.

Did you made the drumkit setup prepared to use standard GM map midi score?

Cuz I make all my songs in guitar pro, then use it's midi in cubase sx 2.x and I've been using "cDrumkit From Hell" samples in either battery and LM4-Mark2 but none has provided me the means to make something appealing .. or perhaps I'm too lazy and clueless.

Have any of you heard of "FXPansion BFD"? I've heard it was already being used in studios

On the cymbals I'm using the corresponding room samples too. But not for the rest...

CSONOR90 + CSONOR107 together as kick. (Two samples gives more thump)

CSENSITO for snare

CSONO158 - low floor tom
CSONO146 \
CSONO134 |- The other toms
CSONO131 /
CSONO117 - Highest tom

C14_RCK8 - Pedal Hi hat
C14_RC59 - Closed Hi Hat
C14_RC46 - Open hi hat
C14_RC66 - Very open hi hat

C10_SPL - Splash
C21_MDCS - other splash
C22_CRST - Crash
C21_AAX - Dark china

C20_CSH5 - Ride Bell
C20_CS12 - Ride one
C22_PW12 - Ride two

These are the samples to use if you track it without velocity. With velocity however, the samples around these are usually the same thing in a different velocity like CSENSIT1 would be a velocity step higher than CSENSIT0 for example. Like I said I only use the room samples for the cymbals and they're the same ones only beginning with an R instead of a C i.e. C20_CSH5 = R20_CSH5.

Hope this helps. :)

It does help indeed. Thank you :)

Sounds really fucking good man. I REALLY enjoy the drum sound, especially since Ive been listening to my crappy recordings lately, so it sounds really awesome. I really like the tone on the guitars, and the drums sound great, I think the only thing to improve on them is those fast snare hits that are in there, if you changed the volume or "humanized" them somehow, since Im not sure how that's quite done, just to give them a more natural sound, but besides that, I would never notice it if it were posted just as a song and not a "critique my recording".

Thanks man, I know what you mean... if i was able i'd do some velocity programming but at this time I still haven't got a clue about that.

Hmm..is that like slightly changing values of the sound of each hit to make it sound more human?!? Or what exactly is velocity programming?!?

Hey Hopkins, which Drumkit From Hell do you have? I've been wanting to get one for a while, but can't decide which one makes the most sense for me to get.
