...saw a couple items at the store today...the latest SUPERJOINT RITUAL along with ENTOMBED's new one. Can anybody speak as to the worthiness of these??? What the hell does superjoint sound like? anything like DOWN? i gave up on ENTOMBED after wolverine blues.
been banging to DARKEST HOUR and NIGHTRAGE all afternoon, they both kick ass!!! and to think we still have new EXODUS and DIMENSION ZERO to look forward to...can't wait! :hotjump:

Well I can answer IMO about the new SJR record. I honestly think it has some good parts , I mean decent riffs in some of the songs. However , I'm just not that into it as a whole. I don't like the lack of production and "thin-ness" of the cd. Plus the songs are kind of like Punk-Metal. I would probably save your money.

Drift since SJR played in SD last night at 4th&B you should have checked them out to make your decisiion on them. It was a killer show. I'm not too familiar with Down so I can't really compare them.

I'm sure you'll be able to find a used CD from SJR at Music Trader or maybe even Leo's down here.

i didn't know they were playing, but couldn't have gone anyway...my wife is on a mini-vacation with her sister in Palm Springs and I'm staying home with the kiddies.
Hey, where's music trader and Leo's??? I don't know about them and have been dying to find a metal shop to pillage. My buddy has a cool one up in Corona he goes to that has great selections and good prices...are these places similar???

superjoint ritual and down are quite different. down are a southern rock band whereas
superjoint ritual are a crossover mix of hardcore and metal, kinda like agnostic front, cro-mags and the like with extreme vocals.

entombed's latest inferno is great but its no wolverine blues.

id definitely check out both. perhaps d/l a few songs from each and see for yourself. here are some songs you might want to look into:

sjr-personal insult, death threat, dress like a target

entombed-that's when I became a satanist, children of the underworld, young and dead.

cool thanks! i liked DOWN for what it was, i'm in a mood for that once in a while. and i misspoke about ENTOMBED...i liked "Too ride, shoot straight..."that was solid for the most part. especially track 14(last one...) "WRECKAGE"...THIS TUNE ABSOLUTELY CRUSHES!!! THE CD IS WORTH PAYING FOR JUST TO HEAR THIS SINGLE TRACK
! anyhoo, thanks and i'll check out the new one.

I havent heard SJR yet, but judging by the fact that so many of you dont like it, perhaps I will, hahahaha!
I happen to be a big fan of old school hardcore, although I hate Anselmo, I still have to give this a fair listen. I think I missed the damn show up in Worcester already (shakes head) Ive been wanting to give these guys a listen.

Anyone see Anselmo hosting HIMSELF saturday on MTV2? They played about three cuts from the new cd? Have to admit, they are definately going to be one of my top 10 buys in the next couple of months.

SJR is not really my cup of tea. I wouldn't waste my money on that.
I haven't heard anything by Entombed lately. I really liked these guys (even after the style change to "death & roll"!), but I haven't heard the Morning Star and the new one yet. I've heard they have a strong thrash resemblence. Is that true?
