A few thoughts after watching the Symphony X / Iced Earth tour kickoff...

Why is GNR playing what amounts to be a club for their stature? Haven't they been selling out arenas?

hmm... just checked their site.. only 3 showsl Miami, Orlando, Atlanta...

Disney kicked out two of the biggest prog/power names to make way for GnR, That probably made Axel happy! haha

And isnt GnR pretty much in two bands? almost like the modern rhapsody and rhapsody of fire? I mean axel has GnR and then like two or three of them are in velvet revolver... I mean I know they USED to sell out arenas but what about now?

GnR are doing a few small shows like this. They just played Orlando a few months ago and sold out the arena. I would never go to see them in that enviroment. This sounds like it will be a cool show to see, so we grabbed tix.

Sucks for Sym X and Iced Earth. The new venue is much smaller and I think they are going on earlier. That is why we will try and hit both shows. Probably duck out a bit early during Sym X set. Seeing them in September anyway, but I really want to see Iced Earth with Stu.
