Ok so i've been using pitch shift guitar to get a bass sound and it's just not doing it for me.

Can anybody recommend a good bass with maple fingerboards?*i love maple*

Squier Vintage Modified Jazz, get the all maple version and you're sorted. Brilliant bass!

Squier VM Jazz is excellent. If you don't mind going used, the older USA Peaveys are amazing, like the Foundation with Super Ferrite pickups, or the Fury. If you play your cards right, you could easily afford both basses for the price of the Squier and have a p and j bass sound, with made in the USA quality.

... but you can't go wrong with the ibanez Sound Gear basses, 500 series, 600 series or 700 series it's all good shit... even the 400 series that you guys get in the states
