Hey guys, i just finished a rough mix of some new material for my band, I was just wondering what you guys think of the overall mix,

I think the snare is going to need a little automation and the guitars still need a little work to fit just right, but it might help when all the background ambient lead guitar stuff is in the mix.

SUPER EDIT:

Anyway enjoy!

Killer music. The kick is too loud, the snare could have some more highs/brightness. The guitar sound is really good but a bit scooped for my taste.

sounds awesome man!:OMG:

how did you make this ADRRRGOAHOUWWW:)goggly:) effect in the beginning?

cheers

I never really changed anything from the ny avatar kit except a few other toms and different snare, the kick is drumagoged.

As for processing, I slammed the crap out of the room mic with a compressor.

I gated the toms, and on OH I only used a highpass to 300hz to give some space to the guitars from the cymbals.

killer guitar tone. Damn you Axe FX! do you have to buy a midi footswitch to use it live?

Your mixes get better and better man. They make me excited for when I am gonna start recording my album with my AxeFx.

Any tips you wanna give for the AxeFx tone? Did you use much post processing?

maybe i have one:)
i always place a graphic eq at the beginning of the chain, 63@-12 and 126@-6.
this helps to get rid of mud and it also makes the bottom strings sound much tighter IMHO. the missing bass needs to be raised in the amp section of course:headbang:

playerd around with it a little bit. i can get alot of crazy sounds
from it but not that "tape stop stutter" effect.
any tips how to use it correctly!?:)

I use a drive block on the axe fx first, always, the ts808 OD.

Post proscessing I used a lowmid compression

And a high pass at 70hz
Lowpass at 11khz

Eqed around the 2.5-7khz mark a little bit of cutting and boosting.

I also used a little rubytube, not much though, just a smidge! :D

Cheers! Nah, I need one, It's a pain in this ass if you don't have a pedal to change. The Ground control Pro looks awesome though, and for a decent price
