About drum pannings

I still can't listen to Tool's Ænema in headphones because it makes my head jerk to the snare beat.

I recently listened to this album on my new monitors. I noticed an unusual mono quality, that I just wanted to fix! Very irritating mix! Probably on purpose!

This is why I perfer panning from Drummers perspective...

and I'm not big on 100% pan on Left and Right, but I think 80%ish is good.

I usually pan the toms depending on how many there are and how wide I want it to sound...I usually go for wide like on Machine Heads through the ashes of empires. That drum sound is sick.
