About to eat some Chik-Fil-A

And greek food. We jave an authentic greek restaurant close by. With godfather type music and belly dancer while you eat. Throwing plates on the floor and everything. Its an experience

I haven't. Any good?

I'd imagine I would dig it. Never had an Asian cuisine I didn't like. Authentic Szechuan is the shit as well. Them peppercorns will burn a hole through your ass real quick.

I also dig most Asian cuisines.

My mother-in-law is Filipino and their food is quite good. I think my favorite is this sort of citrusy/sour "soup" over rice called Sinigang (good with pork rib or seafood). My favorite flavors are spicy and sour and they do well in both regards.

Yes. That was some weird shit. It was a long ass time ago but we were picking on pieces of a cooked pig.

I dont remember it being bad though

They like to cook whole pigs. They make little pork belly cracklins called lichon. There's also a really good pork belly dish called sisig made with I think lime and some kind of peppers.

Yeah. Lichon. That was it. I just looks up pics. Like i said, nothing bad about it at all. I think I would enjoy it more now.

I like asian cuisines

My favorite restaurant in Paris was Vietnamese. I don't know if it was traditional Vietnamese cuisine or just that particular chef but they had a way with spices that got me discover incredible associations of flavors (lots of green peppercorns were used. Some of the hotter dishes were truly nasty too.

I reside in Dallas occasionally. We've gone to several local Mexican restaurants and they were mostly bad. Do you know any hole in the wall places that are good (not chains)?

Sure.

Irving (where I grew up and actually live for the time being): Rudy's, Tio Carlo's, Dona Lencha, Rincon Latino (#1 or #2).

Dallas: Zaguan Latin Cafe (Oak Lawn area), and pretty much any random "taqueria" in South Dallas/Oak Cliff.

Grand Prairie: It is a Texas/Oklahoma chain, but Monterey's Little Mexico in Grand Prairie is pretty darn tasty. Haven't tried the other locations.

Heh, I guess it's a major urban area so it's not that random but I lived in Irving for a year and I've eaten at Dona Lencha (it was OK). I am interested in checking these out though for sure. We have a place on the other side of the metroplex but we go back to Irving from time to time. Not speaking about Mexican, but I think Arlington has my favorite restaurants in the metroplex.

I've been to a few hole in the wall places and a couple upscale places but nothing has hit just right. I was able to eat at "Jose" on Lover's Lane (which seemed pretty pricey) since my department was treating a prominent historian who was in town and let me tag along. I usually order enchiladas verde everywhere I go for comparison and the ones there were meh. "Mesero" is another fancy restaurant over there that has really good salsa but the entree was meh again. I prefer the taquerias. Don't give me dry chicken, smother it in verde sauce, and give me copious amounts of pico and guac. Maybe one of these places will do it for me.

The fancy ones are the worst, especially in Dallas. It's more about atmosphere than food. I haven't been to either of those places, but I just looked them up and they look pretty douchey. Lol
