Achieving the ultimate scream/growls

hey can you guys give me some tips for high pitched shreik vocals? im good at low and mid but i cant get high at all!

If you want to go into a high pitched shreiking vocal, you need to have a wide vocal range(like me ;) or use falsetto which is not reccomended by me, unless you have it well rehersed in which case it should be VERY loud, like your natural voice.
Good luck.

hey guys,

I need a vocalist for my orchestral groove metal project...

if you visit www.myspace.com/xerath

download alterra and record over it if possible, the band will support you with lines and lyrics if we audition you further.

Send this to xerath@hotmail.co.uk and tell us why you want the part

Cheers! (expect a reply after wacken :) )

Does anybody know of the correct technique for using spit in the mouth to get the wet, Dallas Toler-Wade type gurgle with the low growls?

I've been experimenting but nothing seems to work.

^I wish I could do that, I just do traditional growls like Glen Benton and David Vincent, and also deep lows like early Chris Barnes and Karl Sanders and Will Rahmer from Mortician, and high growls/rasps and black metal screams, I don't know if I'm doing a shriek or not.

I cant scream, I have tried many times, it sounds like I am shouting or has no volume. So I asked a couple of extreme metal vocalists I know, both of them said the same thing, practice, they both said they have been trying to scream for a while and neither got it straight away.

Well what kind of screams are you trying to do? Clean, hardcore type screams or black metal style screeches?
