Actual Iron Maiden Downunder news

I hear the 2nd show (in Melb) Gold Standing tickets are sold out already. If Maiden sell out all their shows or come as close to capacity for every night it will surely grab every other international metal band and his dogs attention.

I'm crossing my fingers for W.A.S.P. midway through next year - so I can sort my finances out from the mess Maiden has left me in:ill:

IRON MAIDEN: Melbourne Show Sells Out In 25 Minutes - Sep. 26, 2007

Paul Cashmere of Australia's Undercover News reports: Following IRON MAIDEN's rapid sell-out within 25 minutes in Melbourne this morning (September 27), Sydney was also quick to respond with a sell-out show at Acer Arena within an hour.

Promoter Paul Dainty said, "Sales have been phenomenal. Ticketek advised me this morning that the queues have been the longest at their ticket outlets for any on-sale for ages."

Sydney will likewise now have a second show on Sunday, February 10.

According to Dainty, the second shows for Sydney and Melbourne will definitely be the last of the IRON MAIDEN shows added to the Australian tour because of limited time in the country.

The Somewhere Back In Time World Tour 2008 will see IRON MAIDEN perform major concerts in 20 selected cities on five continents in seven weeks including India, Japan, North America, Central and South America, and, of course, Australia.

Somewhere Back In Time - Australia 2008 dates are as follows:

Feb. 04 - Burswood Dome - Perth, Australia
Feb. 06 - Rod Laver Arena - Melbourne, Australia
Feb. 07 - Rod Laver Arena - Melbourne, Australia
Feb. 09 - Acer Arena - Sydney, Australia
Feb. 10 - Acer Arena - Sydney, Australia
Feb. 12 - Entertainment Centre - Brisbane, Australia

Let's hope this is proof to Rod and co that ignoring Australia for the last 15 years is the dumbest fucking thing they've done; they obviously have demand there, despite what EMI might tell them (and considering EMI's shithouse marketing, no doubt they wanted an excuse for any poor sales... but don't get me started on that:p). Excellent news, guys! Now I have to hope they do a London show or two, instead of a Donington gig.

Heh, they can't even spell Melbourne right.

Brisbane's almost sold out. :headbang: A shame they've said they won't be putting on any more shows for this leg.

London show = Clive Burr gig at Brixton. Probably. :)
Hmm, they did a Clive show recently, didn't they? (I can't recall)

Considering they can sell out 2 nights at Earls Court just by farting, they'd be mad not to do it on this tour; however, it seems their between-album-tours typically consist of just festival shows :(

Tickets on sale for the 2nd sydney show as of 11am today.......

remeber, you heard it here first, page two of this post!!!!
