Addictive Drums

Don't like it. Tries to sound too polished out of the box, and I didn't like the snare too much. I guess you could tweak it to sound good, but it seems to lack other pretty useful features as well.

I wouldn't say it's as good as s2.0 or slate, but it for sure holds its own. I actually still like to use some toms from AD and sometimes use the snare if I'm doing a more rockish mix.

I love Addictive Drums for pop/rock, but it cant really do much else.

I've gotten some great snares and toms with AD. Usually I just end up replacing the kick though. The cymbals are passable, but the ones in S2.0 are much better.

Im not sure about that, Black neon bob inflicted some pretty hanus metal upon us with some AD

True, though overall I think I preferred his DFHS clips, but they were surprisingly close I must say - and "heinous", Kev :D (hanus  )

I agree with Notuern. AD sounds great for rock/pop stuff but not so much for metal without some serious tweaking. I definitely think AD beats Slate in terms of being natural sounding as far as articulation goes but Slate drums just sound better in a mix with less work. I have both AD and Slate and find many uses for both.

I'm AD all the way, it's good practice if you take all the settings off and try and make your own sounds, and im not into da br00talz hugely anyway

I like brutal stuff but also like plain rock, and will be doing some rock soon. I'm actually thinking about saving and getting a drum plugin, I just can't get the sounds I want out of the samples I have...

well the demo has a snare kick and hi hat, maybe all you'd need for pop rock , cymbals would be nice true but you could find some here and somehow map them into AD? I dont really know im not too educated on midi mapping and all that jazz

I dont think so
if they did that they might aswell just give you the kit :D
but im really not too hot on the metal side of the kits and programmes around here so you might wanna go searching but i see loads of people going on about steven slate's stuff, but bugger me its expensive
