A lot of the snare sounds I've heard have this HORRIBLE and really pronounced ringing that drives me bonkers; great attack, but I would chop the holy fuck out of envelope of the samples, which I guess isn't that hard to do...

That's one of my problems, but when you envelope the tail off, the sound becomes weak. I think the snare sounds in 2.0 rely on that snare trail.

Wait, you can't route the overhead signals for the kitpieces to a bus?

In BFD2, you can route the overhead samples for a kitpiece to its own AUX - for the purposes of seperation, or like you'd want to do, to pan it elsewhere.

you can have the cymbal as an x-drum if you want to seperate it, but i don't think the x-drums come up in the room mics... not certain about this so i'll have to give it a try when i get home. hopefully i'm wrong about this.
