Addictive Drums

I dont think so
if they did that they might aswell just give you the kit :D
but im really not too hot on the metal side of the kits and programmes around here so you might wanna go searching but i see loads of people going on about steven slate's stuff, but bugger me its expensive

I know :( Slate samples sound like the shit but cost the shit as well...

i like AD's sound possiblilties.. the toms can be epic with a little work. the only problem i have with it is it is very limited in how many pieces you can have on a given kit. theres only 4 tom slots, one snare, kick, a ride, hi hat, and only two crashes with one splash/china.

i would love to see AD add more slots for additional toms and cymbals

The demo has 1 cymbal, hi-hat, snare and kick. You can load the cymbal in 3 times and tune it differently on each instance. Since I bought AD I've made some of my best songs with it. I can understand the Deeds of Flesh crowd not liking it, though. It's not going to pull off face-ripping grind as well as Slate.

I'm not looking for drums for grind, more of a djent/biohazard/pantera style drum sound, rough yet polished:lol:

I've never heard anyone make an AMAZING sounding mix with AD. Ryan did some damn good work with it tho, didn't post it here.

Dude.. there gets a point where the 'it costs too much so I'ma crack it' argument just become ridiculous. I can almost understand it for something like Waves. But for SSD? You're unwilling to pay $100 for 10 different drum kits? How much WOULD you be willing to pay for that many kits of that quality? Jesus.

While we're in the subject, is the EX pack worth getting, or should one keep saving for the Platinum one?

I use SSD EX and used the AD demo before. I dunno about the rest of the snares, but I don't like the snare that comes with the AD demo at all.

Doesn't Kyle use AD for his Zero System stuff, tho? That's a pretty good drum sound.

Fuge's drums are pretty good too, aren't they?

He has since switched to S2.0 in the past few weeks and I believe on the Meridian EP that is what you are hearing, with samples blended as well IIRC. He would have to verify that though. Most everything before then was AD though, he's actually the one that turned me on to them. In the full version there are two snares I use all the time and both work really good and sound perfect for my tastes, one of which is the same one Kyle used.

Yeah I switched to S2.0 and thats what I have been using for pretty much everything. I loved addictive drums it just had a weird hifi thing going on that I couldn't get past. Either or s2.0 has worked great for just about everything.....well everything except for kicks.

I've tried just about everything out there pertaining to drum samples and next to OWD, AD is probably the best thing out there. Out of the box, you can get a decent sound but you'll have to really experiment with tuning, compression, EQing, and possible sample replacement. I had my real drummer come in and tweak the whole thing and it sounds amazing (using APtrigga on kick drum). Something about SSD and S2.0 that just bothers me...either the cymbals or just the poor round-robin integration.

If you add some samples for the snare and kick AD is superb.
I would say that the cymbals, HH etc are the best sounding on the market. Sounds more realistic then DFHS for instance

I only use one snare from AD but if properly EQ'd, positioned, and tuned...it can sound awesome. Even the kick drum can sound good by itself but it tends to be a little too 'oomfy' for my tastes, so I just blend it with a kick sample through APTrigga. Crille is correct on the cymbals though, some of the best I've heard from any of the major drum libraries out there.
