when i was 3 i thought there was two types of chicken: the kind that clucked and the kind you ate. :loco:

nice ... so both Lee and NAD quit smoking at the same time on 2 different continents ... let's see who lasts longer ...

I agree, weed is mentally addictive.

Lurch is right, you can't quit smokes until you REALLY want to. it's not something that can succeed just because you know its the right thing, you have to want it bad.

I worked my way down to about two cigs a day from my usual pack a day, simply by putting off each smoke break by 30 minutes; then when that 30 was up, another 15, and then another 10....then I was able to quit. I may have to smoke at the Kayo Dot show on Oct 7 tho.

I quit cold-turkey a few years back. I just bought tons of food and locked myself in my appartment for a week. The was the most boring and horrible vacation ever, but it was worth it. :)

I'm waiting for my man
Twenty-six dollars in my hand
Up to Lexington, 125
Feel sick and dirty, more dead than alive
I'm waiting for my man

Hey, white boy, what you doin' uptown?
Hey, white boy, you chasin' our women around?
Oh pardon me sir, it's the furthest from my mind
I'm just lookin' for a dear, dear friend of mine
I'm waiting for my man

Here he comes, he's all dressed in black
PR shoes and a big straw hat
He's never early, he's always late
First thing you learn is you always gotta wait
I'm waiting for my man

Up to a Brownstone, up three flights of stairs
Everybody's pinned you, but nobody cares
He's got the smokes, gives you a light
Ah then you gotta split because you got no time to fight
I'm waiting for my man

velvet underground rules. :kickass:

i'm such a sporadic smoker quitting cold turkey is rarely hard, it's keeping off it while drinking that is. so i might work a system where the moment i feel like i'm dying for a smoke (usually happens 3 beers in) that's when i'll stop drinking for the night.

or just chuck it all and smoke anyway. :loco:

yeah and i drink like twice a week around a bunch of smokers, so that's when it gets tough. i've quit smoking many times, but after a few months i get drunk and just say fuckit. only once did i go for a long time, and maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan did that first cigarette rule.

what?!?!? why on earth did you smoke then?!?

that's like saying you enjoy sex but not the orgasm!

whelp, grampa just died of lung cancer and pops told me i better quit smoking.

i hope that's reason enough. :(

Doing okay so far. I was on the patches at first, but they made me feel like I was travel-sick or something. I've spent the whole of today "Cold Turkey" and while it's tough it's not unbearable. A little "spacy" in the head, maybe. It's hard to concentrate. I'm quite short tempered too, when I'm usually pretty mellow.

The worst part is wanting to eat constantly. I never feel full, no matter how much I stuff down my fat fucking face. I have to be careful with that one, or in six months I'll be buying those jeans with the two-foot zipper and wiping my arse with a rag on a stick.

I guess I've got at least another two or three days of feeling like this...
