Agalloch has an official homepage

Honestly, I don't feel like I should say anything yet just because I've only spun it once.... :erk:

It's very much in the vein of The August Engine (except with much more organ/piano), stronger retro feel, some definite highlights....but you know, it's gonna take a while to all sink in.

"Widow Years" and "War Anthem" are both exceptionally cool "new" songs (if you don't count the title track and Trot out the Dead) which we already heard.

But yeah.... so far so good so what.... :kickass:

All this gay chat and nobody mentions TOUR DATES for fucks sake:

7/29 - with Wolves in the Throne Room

8/4 - with Ludicra

I'll be in London for both those, but I assume everyone in CA at least will drive over for this no question.

The Pacific Northwest's AGALLOCH — whose long-awaited and much-anticipated new album "Ashes against the Grain" is due out August 8, 2006 on The End Records — have filmed a video for the song "Not Unlike The Waves" with director Nicole Phillips and cinematographers Richard Stark and Juan Mosqueda. It is currently in the editing process. Over nine hours of footage was shot in three days and the results are quite stunning thus far. To film aficionados, the style of the video will call to mind the work of Ingmar Bergman, Mario Bava, and the German Expressionist movement.

Yup.

there is a hint of isis...a dash of katatonia...lots of typical agalloch....the last track is 'noisy'....something for everyone. :loco:

"not unlike the waves" is worth it alone.
