Agalloch's New Song - has anyone got it?

Give me 5 dolla and i will.

The song isn't that good imho. But i've never really been an Agalloch fan, so that means next to nothing. More rock than anything else they've done by a mile.
I've never agreed with you on anything

I've heard from an unconfirmed source that Don Anderson said this isn't the final version of the song (so probably not the version we'll hear on the album). He said something along the lines of "it was good enough to be on the compilation, but it's not finished."

Here's to hoping some folkiness goes in there to finish'er up.

i guess many people posting on this thread are idiots then. there are worse things one could be: see above

Come on... I like Agalloch (I adore Pale Folklore) - but this song is a bit dull. Major chords all over the place (whereas Agalloch's music gets its gravity from its Minor chords). Very dull drums (even though Agalloch has never been about the drums...) The song improves as it goes on, but it's well below 95% of their back catalogue.

Seriously... if this was by some unknown band that some unknown dude was trying to pedal on here, it wouldn't receive any fanfare whatsoever.

I'm going to go ahead and make a statement:

If you judge wether or not you enjoy a band by the chords they use (minor or major), you're a fucking idiot.

Sorry Blimey, I suppose I did forget to also mention the track's simple-minded song-writing...
This doesnt even deserve a response, but you pissed me off so much that I responded. Damn.

seriously though, what is it so much we always disagree on? I'm ok with being wrong, but i'm not usually that outrageous and disagreeable with what i say (unless it's intentional :p)
dont know, doooont know

wth., Agalloch has always used mayjer chords. Apparently its caked in so much gi1m atmosphere to be apparent. And yes the atmosphere is about the only reason I listen to this band. Too bad much of it is gone now. :(

;-) haha

Let's bury the hatchet. I'm sure this track will grow on me, as all Agalloch tracks tend to do. I agree that they've always used some Major chords - of course, this is needed to provide contrast. But this track seems to hit you in the face with a more 'trivial' feeling - it feels to me as though it lacks that atmosphere and depth which has so characterised Agalloch's past works.
