Agalloch's New Song - has anyone got it?

I actually have 3 vinyl copies of Pale Folklore

didnt they only release one on blue vinyl and one on blue/white (which came with the woodenbox ltd to 60 or something)

I have the new cd, not as good as The Mantle IMO, but it is quite a good album.

Well once you have acknowledged that it is impossible to be better than The Mantle, you can start enjoying Ashes Against the Grain for what it is (another great album)

i actually think track 2 is the best on the album, the least progressive and the most uptempo, but it just gets me going. love it

If you pay attention to that you mustn't have enjoyed the first two like they deserved.

... you don't have to pay attention to it to hear it. its pretty fucking obvious that the vocals have improved, any dumbass can tell.

and im a huge agalloch fan, love all their albums.

Personally i think Falling Snow is a great album, easily better than Ghost Reveries - but that's just because this appeals to me more.

I get the feeling the case could be that, like with The Grand Conjuration, that Agalloch have allowed the weakest song to be heard.

isnt the album called ashes against the grain?

This album is a miracle. Couldn't top The Mantle and they knew it so they evolved, for the best.

im pretty sure that they made this album in the hopes that it would be better than The Mantle. thats like opeth making albums knowing that MAYH/SL/BWP we're the best and they can't top them.

plus, different people like different albums. whats saying that agalloch doesnt like this album more than the mantle?

I don't like the song very much at all. I liked pale folklore a lot, but this song just seems so bland compared to some of that stuff. I hope the rest of the album isn't all like that or it will be very boring.
