AirTran rules. If it weren't for them, Atlanta airfares would still be through the roof, thanks to Delta. :erk:

Cheapest I've done was the first PP in Atlanta, 176.00 round trip w/taxes.
Cheaper than driving, probably. I'm looking at about $225 this year....
Oh yeah, these are nonstop fares from Milwaukee.....

Anyone seen any airfare deals lately?

I've been looking and round trip from Phoenix is looking like 454 bucks. That's harsh and much higher than last year.

Anyone else see any decent fares?

Zilla

Overall, it seems airfare is much higher this year than last, even on the cheaper routes. And I don't think Phoenix to Atlanta is one of the cheaper routes, unfortunately.

although I am not going this year, it is good to see another person who makes the trip from the desert state:rock:

I made the mistake of waiting until last month to try and use frequent flyer miles. Usually I book the flight as soon as the date is announced, but I was slacking this year. It cost me too. Normally it takes 25,000 miles for a US ticket, but I had to blow 40,000 this year. Serves me right for slacking.

Zilla try Travelocity.com I keep a fare alert on Phoenix because my sister lives there and its showing a price of $255 using Northwest Airline. Hope this helps.

If you are willing to be flexable enough to use hotwire, you might as well try Priceline first. Checkout www.biddingfortravel.com to learn how to bid.

I like this program called SideStep. It pops up in the left side of your browser and will search all the major travel search engines and airlines at once. It is a great little tool that can save you a lot of time searching the web. It is good for hotels too.

Anyway, if I were looking for a flight in September, I would be patient. IMO, it is really too soon for a lot of sales. I'd keep checking and then book by the end of August.

Good Luck,
Robin

I plan on flying out of Chicago, and the cheapest rate I can find for a round trip is $252. It's getting more brutal each year. Unfortunately, I don't think I could handle a 12-hour road trip with my female friend!

Wow, that's a lot, from Chicago. You -did- try AirTran, right?

Err, they're probably around that price, now that I look at their website; $114 each way, then add fees. Oh, well; aviation fuel costs the Moon.

Just checked Delta and its $184 from Chicago ORD. I'll be placing my order tonight, thats close what I pay each year for my tix.

Damn this is getting expensive when you think about it (x2 wife and I), hotel $350, airfare $400, Preshow $50, show $200, beer $500 lol.
