Ajattara - worth checking out?

This side band, featuring Pasi Koskinen, is described as mid-tempo melodic death metal at TER, and folkish black metal a la Finntroll at Metal Observer. Has anyone here heard them?

Or put it this way, can I expect any resemblance to mid-era Amorphis, particularly with the poems and chants from the Kalevala...

I'm currently listening to Elegy, and just reminded at how good it is. I've yet to find anything that even comes close to it in style & energy.

Excellent vocalist. I think it's worth checking out. Definately heavier than Amorphis, darker, and really great.

As far as Ajattara, they are full of hook. Midpaced, Black/Death metal, and in my opinion, the best "brutal" sounding vocals Pasi has ever recorded.

You really think so? Honestly, I get taken in by the whole picture so much, nothing has stood out to me like the synths. I can't explain it really, this band came out of no where for me, and really took me by surprise.
