death metal, gore grind.... horror movies. This combination has always been a favorite. Too bad its since pretty well disappeared except for save a band or two. Impetigo forever.

I can't be bothered posting actual images of the covers, but right now the new Amorphis album 'Under the Red Cloud' is blowing me away. To think that after all these years they can still create masterpieces like this is just astonishing. It's album of the year for me.

And just now finally getting into Septic Flesh's 'Titan'. I was obsessed with the last two but was a bit gun-shy of this after hearing a song I thought was mediocre. The more I listen to the whole album now the more I'm becoming REALLY impressed with it. At any rate, they're the most underrated band in metal (along with Fleshgod Apocalypse).

The last two are the best two of the Tomi Joutsen era if you ask me (which you didn't). 'Circle' and 'Under the Red Cloud' are the best Amorphis albums since 'Elegy'. I'm tickled pink by the entire circumstance.

Exactly what happened with me TB. I didn't give 'Titan' time initially because I heard (parts of it) once or twice and thought, not as good as 'The Great Mass' and moved on. Hopefully once the newish style and approach (which is actually really creative) of 'Titan' sinks in you'll be born again like I am.
