I go back and forth with those two Mercyful Fate albums. I think I'd go with Don't Break the Oath usually, but my old roommate had a copy of the EP on vinyl that was one of our go to albums to blast. Fucking Nuns Have No Fun. C-U-N-T THAT'S WHAT YOU AAAAAARRRRREEEEEE!

Melissa is definitely the better of the two, but Don't Break the Oath is one of the most satisfactory albums when it comes to blending wild spirit and mature restraint. The Mercyful Fate EP will always be my favorite release by them.

Mercyful Fate meets second wave black metal in this outrageous affair. The vocals can be a bit grating at times but overall the songs are great IMO.

Super underrated and original stuff here!

i just looked that up on RYM due to having no idea what the fuck it was, and it's on an old nin chan black metal list i'd forgotten about. i need to work my way through everything i haven't heard on that list, dude has great taste.

Yeah, that Bewitched is a good album, probably mostly because Candlemass and Mercyful Fate are the biggest influences on it.
