That is a true story. Both pieces were done by Michael Whelan, who did the Elric art used on Cirith Ungol albums. He also did a Jackson 5 album cover.

yeah, i love the guys work. I have more than a few posters, t-shirts, etc with his legendary art. I even have a few of the comic books that he did the cover art for. Didn't know he did a Jackson 5 cover though ... would have never guessed.

For me, Whelan's best works are his four pieces for Cirith Ungol. But besides them, I agree with TechBarb, Beneath the Remains is a masterpiece.

I dunno man, Back Into Hell is a indescribably wicked album cover.

I prefer his Very Best of Meatloaf art actually.

I finally got around to listening to Godflesh's "A World Lit Only By Fire" and its probably the best material they have ever made. Probably their most crushing riffs too.

Definitely a good album. I was so stoked when it was released.

This album was one of my honorable mentions for 2016 and I've changed my mind. This is easily one of my top 10. It is extremely rare for a prominent 80s metal band to release an album this good more than 30 years later. Not to mention that it's a SEQUEL ALBUM. You know...just how like Operation Mindcrime II was a sequel album or Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy was a sequel album. However, unlike those two, Vampiro fucking eviscerates them and ends up becoming one of the best albums of 2016. This is how you follow up a classic.

EDIT: Also, the lyrics are pretty awesome too.
