Is this album any good? I've never really been interested in their post-Sign of the Hammer stuff.

Gods of War is the pinnacle of Manowar's more narrative/verbose/cheesy elements. It's worth checking out at least once.

I do agree though that the quality drops severely after Sign of the Hammer, but for what seems like forever by now I've been trying to get people to actually give The Triumph of Steel the attention it deserves, so you should check that one out too sometime.



I'd take Gods of War and The Triumph of Steel over Battle Hymns for whatever that's worth.

I always liked Kings of Metal, probably my favorite Manowar album or the I'm the most familiar with . Never was a big fan of these guys so I still need to check out a lot of their stuff. Just always put it off over the years.

Into Glory Ride and Hail to England are masterpieces. Sign of the Hammer and Battle Hymns are excellent as well.

Battle Hymns is not excellent even though it has a couple excellent tracks, it's certainly not on the same level as Sign of the Hammer.

I concur, but the weakest output of the first four albums is definitely Into Glory Ride.
