Albums currently kicking your ass

This album has been 100% murdering me with groove the past 24 hours since it was posted to Stoned Meadow Of Doom. That said it's much more Psych/Spacerock than Stoner, but holy shit it's good. If you're a fan of Earthless, Yuri Gagarin or Spaceslug you'll adore this. IMO better than the Spaceslug album and EP from this year and on par with Lemanis from last year)

Kicking my ass lately,

Vegas Martyrs - Vancouver Missing Women (Hospital Productions; 2010)
Experimental black metal made by Dom from Prurient fame and Richard from FFH. There's a power electronics edge to this that is pretty unique. Great atmosphere - super dark, love the vague title that implies abduction. Overall, really worth hearing if you're into the whole "noisy" black metal thing of the early 2010's.

Necrobutcher ‎– Schizophrenic Noisy Torment (NWN!; 2012)
Straight up, the most brutal thing I've ever heard besides like Blasphemy or The RIta. Crushingly fast and deranged. Vocals all the way up. Love the demo quality recording and absolute manic atmosphere. Blackend grind or proto-deathgrind. Fuck it. Just killer. This is a reissue, as the band was around in the early 1980's.

Listening now, this is pretty slick background music for research work. Price is kind of high for a CD

No problem. I'm pretty interested to see your 2017 list. This year saw a pretty good variation of genre releases.

I'm fairly behind on a few albums I need. I havent heard Forsaken, Acid Witch, Midnight, Druid Lord, Procession, Runespell, or Communion. I need to get most of that from HHR before I decide for sure. Pagan Altar is probably going to be my number one though.

I don't own a physical copy of everything I'm picking this year, I just set aside a shitload of cash and bought them all digitally from Bandcamp. I own a good deal of them though but it's been brutal to keep up with everything.

It doesn't look like an ordinary black metal cover to me at all. Logo makes me think thrash, cover makes me think tech-death.

And that Sacral Rage album is great.
