I would agree that Revelation is probably the most underrated doom band. That goes for their early music and their newer music.

Revelation are probably the most underrated doom metal band of them all. Just because rms and I can see that doesn't mean they are overrated. They've received virtually no commercial success or even that much social success. They remained largely unknown until the rise of digital media and released all their shit for free.

I can probably get behind them being underrated generally but on UM they've been overrated instead because people here hype them because they are, well underrated. X) I think the truth is somewhere in between. They are great but hardly the best of the best.

revelation are just as hyped by a minority in other old school doom type communities in my experience (hellride, SK and the like). they're not so much underrated as underheard.

It's great shit! Just Got Paid is one of the best songs ever! I also like Fandango and Tres Hombres. The debut is quite good too.

speaking of that scene, i recently heard sortilege's sophomore album for the first time, it's really neat. better than the debut (though probably not the EP).
