speaking of that scene, i recently heard sortilege's sophomore album for the first time, it's really neat. better than the debut (though probably not the EP).

I still need to check that out. I love the EP, the debut was a bit disappointing comparatively.

Probably don't have it because their releases are expensive and don't have good distribution if I'm remembering right.

Holy fuck.

An entirely appropriate reaction. "All consuming" is an apt description I feel.

Not sure why I didn't check these guys out sooner. Despite loving a good helping of 70's prog rock, for whatever reason most prog metal did nothing for me. These guys on the other hand I took to right away. Phenomenal band.

If you squint your eyes you can almost imagine it's a Magica Madoka witch or something. Better than most CGI 90s metal cover art. I do think it's funny that the same artist made all four covers, while none of them really look the same.

Oh yeah, A Social Grace and Into the Everflow are their best to my ears although all 4 albums are brilliant in their own ways.
