I like plenty of thrash fyi, it's just not a favourite subgenre of mine and I find Testament to be generally mediocre.

Some examples of thrash bands I think are better than Testament:

Slaughterchrist - Reflections of Things to Come

Kvlt death/thrash from Utah, with Hell Awaits/None Shall Defy-style composition. Few solos, few choruses, just riff after riff after riff effortlessly going between thrash, death, doom, and speed metal. Awesome shit, some obscure extreme metal label out of Utah is supposed to reissue their demos but that hasn't happened yet. Some of the best riffing and arrangements I've heard from a demo band.
