After Slayed Necros talked about Skeletal Remains I figured I'd check out some new old school Florida death metal, and god damn is it nice to have another Obituary album to listen to.
Was literally just listening to that an hour or so ago and man is it disgusting in a good way. Not sure if I prefer that or Last One on Earth, but "Deathhammer" is pretty much a top ten death metal song.
First listen, liking this a lot already. I don't know how all these 80s Japanese bands managed to do things that sound years ahead of the rest of the world was doing.
EDIT: Actually I take it back, I read PhantomOTO's review on RYM and now I can't get the very obvious gothic rock influence out of my head. Still, the first two songs were neat. Good production, decent hooks, sweet leads at least.
Anyway, this is one of the best albums out of the whole Christian metal scene (I guess you could call it a scene) and deserves tons of attention from fans of traditional/power/epic metal.
