Beast of an album.
This was the second album I had ever heard from Slayer and I didn't consider myself to be a fan of their work until I listened to this album. Their sound on their debut may not be as chaotic as their subsequent releases but honestly, I love their sound here. Keeping one foot in heavy metal like they did on Show No Mercy made them sound fucking awesome and when the evil, menacing, chaotic parts kicked in, they were far more effective and gave the listener chills throughout. This album just had more replay value for me than Reign in Blood (as fantastic and groundbreaking as it is).
