Albums currently kicking your ass

While I don't listen to it very often, I coincidentally did so this morning. Do you happen to know which version your album is? I've got a CD which contains the original German mix from 1972 as well as the 1976 US mix.

I've always listened only to the 1972 mix, which I've been told is the way to go.

I don't like Like an Everflowing Stream nearly as much as most death metal zealots. I mean it's very good, but it's never been one of my favourites.

That Gorement album is no where near as good as LHP or LAEFS or even Clandestine or the first three Grave albums. Waaaaay over rating that second tier death metal.

It's better than all of the above. As is a whole lot of SweDeath. Those you listed should be in the second-tier. Overrated as fuck. Makes me laugh when people cite those as examples of why Euro death metal > US death metal. None of those come close to the top tier of the US death metal scene.

LHP has the supreme opening track and then it all falls apart and washes together into a completely unmemorable album that relies too heavily on aesthetic and lacks substance .Clandenstine is okay. First 2 Grave are good, relentlessly crushing but ultimately one dimensional.

I can't really pinpoint why I don't love LaEFS. It has some amazing tracks and moments but I pretty much never want to listen to it.

the people i'm talking about wouldn't be bothered by stuff being raw and inaccessible. it's more that they're derivative i guess? which they are to a point but no moreso than a lot of other stuff that gets praised. i think it's more a kneejerk reaction against the way certain BM communities jack off over their kvltness.

They get overhyped by some because their tapes and records are rare as fuck; then they get overly hated on for others as backlash against the hype. An honest evaluation is that they're a strong but not great black metal band with a distinct yet traditional second wave sound. They have one great album, Blut und Krieg.

Do they have HamburgerBoy as their leader?
