lol those are albums/groups I've tried to enjoy and will return to like I always do this year. I'm never going to feign interest in something I don't enjoy especially after repeated attempts. I'm also into a lot of different kinds of music and I usually gauge how well I like a metal album on my initial impressions.

Have to change my mind now regarding this album, while still good I am now of the view that The Warning is superior to it. Now I need to go ahead and buy the next two albums.

Watain - Trident Wolf Eclipse

RYM seems to think this is generic, mediocre black metal but it's kicking my ass. Nonstop amazing hooks from start to finish. I guess I just don't get black metal. I haven't listened to Watain before, not sure how this compares to their previous work.

Watain has just been blacklisted by the grim community. You’re literally not allowed to post a thread about the band on NWN.

I haven’t heard that album yet, granted it’s sitting in a mailer at my house. Their last album was bad and they made a pretty bad decision at the end of it. Left a bad taste in a lot of people’s mouth. I liked everything up to that one though, so I’m hoping they turned it around.

Can’t say I’m a massive fan of the band, but Rabid’s Death Curse and especially Casus Luciferi are pretty good. I’d look into those next.

I’d be interested to see what your absolute favourite black metal albums are. You seem to like plenty of it, minus the Norwegian second wave.
