“The Swarm” has a really great intro but then soon devolves into boring rehashed thrash riffs and the worst meledeath tropes.

It's a good album. Definitely better than Slaughter of the Soul. It's a pity it comprises only 6 genuine tracks.

Surprisingly this is really is growing on me over time. So much better than the last two. Probably my favorite after Leviathan and Crack The Skye.
I have lost significant interest in Mastodon over the last year and a half. I used to really like Remission and now it does nothing for me.

Yep, blasting this now. It's a bit samey, but there's definitely some good riffs and killer leads here. Could use more dymanics. Everything is mid-paced and chunky. Needs a few really blazing rippers.
