over 300 albums? put that in perspective - its like a new album EVERY day of the week (and some). i dont know where people find the time to listen to all these bands AND still listen to bands they claim are their favourites.

You couldn't wait a week to allow for people to add in their Christmas stuff?
Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance
Enslaved - Ruun
Hammers of Misfortune - The Locust Years
Goatwhore - A Haunting Curse
Unearthly Trance - The Trident
Misery Index - Discordia
Frightmare - Bringing Back the Bloodshed
Daylight Dies - Dismantling Devotion
Phobia - Cruel
Dim Mak - Knives of Ice
Picking ten that I actually liked from this year came surprisingly easy. There's still several I haven't really checked out either... Amon Amarth, Darkthrone, Sulaco, Martyr, Incriminated, etc.
It's not that hard. Listening to one album takes about an hour (more or less) so you can get in two new albums a day with no problem, then the rest of the day can be for favorite bands or just for whatever the fuck you wish to listen to.

also listening to an album once does not constitute listening to it properly, which was my point (given i didnt say that, but that was where i was going). finding the actual time to do it isnt that amazing ...
Unearthly Trance's album just didn't sound right to me...it didn't click it was too atmospheric at some points
Finally, someone agrees with me. Great album, that was.
