Alcest & Amesoeurs | Stunning, STUNNING music!

Maybe I dont like it much because I had no idea what they are signing about and I generally like to know.

but as they say, music has no language, so, its ok.

France now how to deliver some amazing black metal.... i cheked also the bands somwhat connected to Neige... Mortifera , Peste Noire .. and some connected to people that have worked with him too... as Celestia ( http://www.apparitia.net/ ) .. simply love most of it.... Mortifera got some parts that really reminded me of the fingering on Amesoeurs...

also would like to recommend another french band... Year of No Light.... in the post-rock/metal vein... for those who appreciate Cult of Luna and ISIS.

@Sadguru: You MUST listen to Amesoeurs more often then. There's this one track on the EP with female vocals...INCREDIBLE! I will be buying this EP shortly. The photography/art in the booklet is awesome.

Aye, hopefully these guys do well for themselves.

You meen Faiblesse des Sens right? I´m soooo hooked on it ever since I heard it. I listen to it every day ... Everytime I walk trough the city and that song is on.. man such a wonderful feeling...That one scream she gives aaaaah I feel like screaming myself !!!!

Haha, hell yeah. Wow, I think you're a bigger fan than me now... I didn't even know the name of that song. Uh, yeah...I forget hehe. I can be like that.
But yes, I know EXACTLY what you mean about the scream. I just love the whole mood of this song - definitely my fave one of the three, but they are all so bloody amazing. The female vocalist is brilliant, no doubt, and I can only hope there is more of her on the full album that they are coming out with soon...apparently. One of my most anticipated albums. Soooo very cool you like this so much.

Fateful: Kudos to you for already embracing this band, I see. NIICE!!! Seems you're quite taken by them as well, which is always cool to see. Such an incredible band...their sound is so different and unique.

Great bands indeed. I prefer the EP from Amesoeurs over Alcest - Le Secret.
But the myspace tracks from the upcoming Alcest album sound amazing! I'm extremely curious for upcoming Amesoeurs work as well, it is hard to predict what it will sound like, they have so many directions they can explore with this band.

oh gawd i tried listening to deathspell omega's kénôse yesterday, i had to turn it off in the second track, such booooooring aweful music :p... and well yeah must agree with daniel that peste noire has some nice stuff at least the demo stuff i listened... but believe me im exposed to the most horrible french bm pretty much every day... heh that and slavic stuff (i guess the only ok thing that came from it is root and negura bunget so far)...gawd the torture lol... on the other hand you all should check shinning from sweden... they really nice :)
edit: i just saw the big discussion abt shining in the currend addictions thread so politely ignore my recomendations haha!

^^i have to disagree on Deathspell Omega. 'Kenôse' is imo brilliant and surely the best french bm-release since 'Spicilègè' by Belenos

Deathspell Omega is an amazing band and Kenose is a good example. It's technical, totally insane, well produced and totally unique. Not a release to listen everyday, but I enjoy (maybe an odd word to use in this context though) it every time I listen it! One of the best active black metal bands nowadays imo.
