Hi!

I've lost the power adapter for my Alesis DM5, and need to get another one. Ordering an original one will take several months, so I'll just pick something up.

However does anyonw know how many milliamperes (mA) the original adapter provides? The manual doesen't say.

Its 9v 830 ma AC not DC. 1000ma will work. But its the polarity that matters most. There is no indication of polarity on the adapter or the unit. You will have to open the DM5, see weather the red power wire goes to the center pin or the shield and make your determination. If you reverse the polarity youll blow it.

Is polarity a matter when it's AC? I didn't think so. By the way, i've connected with the wrong polarity MANY times - never had an accident. I'm not saying this to encourage you to just plug it in - just to tell how lucky I apaarently have been......

Yeh polarity doesnt matter for AC
