Ok im about to get a new amp and i was wondering instead of rack products which are OW so expensive lol well it takes a few months of saving to get it....i was wondering to compensate for it maybe pedals

so what would be good pedals to get blooddrunk sounds and AYDY

i heard a Dime or Zakk dunlop crybaby..which one

and other pedals

thanks :kickass:

:headbang:

Old Bodom sound: check ''Hi I'm new...'' thread.

Blooddrunk sound: it seems he's been using a Marshall JCM800 Kerry King Signature head. Allu doesn't use many effects, just a bit of wah I think.

Dude...its not a big deal and its not on many solos he uses it. I wouldn't worry about that...

ITS NOT LIKE HE STANDS AND WANKS IT WHILE PLAYING RHYTM!!!!

Dude... Nothing wrong with a little rhythm while wanking it ;)

Seriously tho, The Dime is the one I'm pretty sure Alexi uses.

Vox are really nice too, they're both way different. You should try them out and see which you can get a better sound out of.

True...but that wasn't my point. The guy was practicly talking about the WAH pedal to compensate for a preamp so that's almost to think that you get distortion OUT OF A WAH .

first thansk to in your face ill try out the dime wah

and the phenom OMG do you think im that NU*BBISH to think i can get distortion out of a WAH pedal lol ami the NU*B who you think I am or are you the NU*B to think people are NU*Bs to such an extent LOLOL XD

anyways what would be a good distortion pedal for the sound would a BOSS pedal do it??or something else which one specifically ??

If you have a decent amp (and pretty good pickups), you should be okay with the boost on the dime crybaby and regular amp overdrive... Its not a real clean distortion but its close the the style CoB uses. They really don't use many pedal effects. A Boss might be overkill if you crank the +-db switch on the Dime Crybaby.

I'm sure there are a TON of people here who can tell you better, so hopefully someone else reads this and "shreds" some light. (ha ha ha....)

How do i know? You never know what people think. No...boss distortion stompboxes are shit. Especially MT-2 Metalzone. Just buy a decent amp. Tube combo or anything will do the trick and if not...add a overdrive pedal to boost it. The right settings will probably get it for you.

 I was tempted to do this[Insert lulzy pic here] before but now i can't resist it anymore after deciphering that "language"!

Oh well...as long as you remember Overdrive pedal is for boosting an already overdriven tube amp to "metal-sound". It's used if it just doesn't have the "push" or the gain. Yeah JCM-800 im sure is more than enough! Well OD pedals:
Ibanez TS9/TS808(I think the 808 is better),Boss SD-1(I have one...works great),Digitech bad monkey (Is said to sound very good for the price). Hope that helps!

Alexi fanboi powa.
BTW, im wondering, a JCM-800 isn't a metal amp, it doesn't have that much distortion. I don't know if alexi uses a dist pedal with it. Personally, I think he doesn't because of his seymour blackout and his gainbooster on his guitar he's alright. Also, he uses a delay a wah and a reverb(idk if there's a reverb in that amp).

@Matias: after listening a lot to COB and trying with distortions an my wah I've come to think that Allu has a really small amount of wah effect on ALL the time. Not like Darrel or Vai that gave to it many uses and wanked it live, he just haves it wired in the line and it gives a small amount of that effect constantly through the whole gig. Only time I've heard him tweak a bit a wah was on ADK live vide on IYF DVD single.

First of all: rack units don't cost 5626235 times more than pedals because the shop manager wants, they are loads better and you're not gonna get nearly as good tone combining shitty pedals oposed to a poweramp-preamp rack combo with e.g. G Force multieffects.

Knowing that, if you don't want/can't afford a rack (as most people in here,) then go for a good head (JCM 800, Peavey 5150, ...) and a good cabinet (Marshall 1960, Peavey XXX, Vader cabs, ...) and maybe some noise reducer and a wah. Don't play with shitty pedals, they won't make a 15 watts Academy sound like Alexi.

WTF? JCM 800 is NOT a metal amp? And what is it then, a jazz amp? It has good distortion, and KK signature even more,

Oh, and FYI, Alexi doesn't use gainbooster any more with the Blackouts, he had it for the passive EMG HZ, which had a low output.
