Is this forum still alive? New user from Aus here - A big fan of so many bands I can't count but recently got into Karnivool \m/
I'd really like to have some debates and conversations especially about the borderline between genres and what the word "poser" really means in the metal community

Semi-alive. I could hardly care what the word 'poser' means as I don't use it. I think it's more interesting to ask why some people grow out of heavy / dark music, regardless of how invested they were in it in the first place.

That's a good topic! I'm weird compared to a lot of fans- I started listening to doom, death, sludge and melodic death first before slowly branching all the way out to Nu-metal. Personally, I tried the "lighter" genres because they have a larger fan base, so I could find more metalhead friends like that. But I've never liked it as much as the heavier stuff.
