The single facty that the particular Rodgers was a rare all wood shell (something like less than 10 were made) and go for near 5 grand, particularly saying that either OP or some metal drummer he knows actually owns one (they are vintage snares, no metal guy is going to spend that type of money on a late 60's snare). Even if he did, they have a cradle so that the wire tension and snare tension could be adjusted separately, to get that setup correct and to tune that snare that way, then manage to mic it AND eq it near exactly how they got it for both EZ drummer and SD2.0. The odds of that are too fucking rare, anyone that even knows a hint of history behind that snare would raise eyebrows.
