Seriously...lip-reading specialists said that idiot Materazzi called Zidane a son of a bitch and also a ''terrorist''...what a dumb shit...i saw it in a brazilian tv show called ''fantastico'' yesterday. Materazzi is a very violent player, go to youtube and type his name there you will find a video of him performing a flying kick on shevshenko and some other atrocities, he deserved the headbutt...i wasn't expecting something like this from a guy like Zidane...but at least Zidane won the ''best player'' Award...

I heard on TV that an organization against Racism claimed also that Materazzi called him a Dirty Terrorist. But Materazzi denied this. Anyways I think if Zidane had controlled himself it would have maybe changed the outcome of the match, or at least the penalties.
Ah well...

They USED TO be very defensive, but during this tournament they won because Lippi showed courage and lined up more forward players, so they deserve all the praise they get. I also hated Materazzi in advance because of his excessively rough game, but after this worldcup I can't say anything else than that he played a great tournament replacing Nesta, except for his one red card.. And surely he must have said something very nasty to Zidane, still strange that Zidane reacted like that, he should have stood above something as low and childish as calling names, especially in his last ever game for the national team, in a worldcup final, which was coming their way, because indeed France was better in the 2nd half and in the extra time.

But then I agree Italy deserved to get even for Euro 2000 and France and Zidane already have a worldcup, so..

*LOL* ... indeed, Cerulean, pretty funny!

But that german view might be not 100% correct... at least where I live most people say: 'Zizou was bowing down to tie his shoes when "Matratzi" accidently ran into him! Poor Zizou... surely got a headache!' :Smug:

Im brazilian and my family has italian blood,so I had 2 good reasons to cheer for Italy.I mean,I dont know the history behind the players on the french team, but they dont look like french,I am totally ok if their family immigrated to France before they were born or if they lived most of their lives on France(since childhood and all),but I have the feelings some of these players got a french citizenship by playing soccer, and this really annoys me,I may be wrong and if I am I'll accept the facts.

Aniway,Im a fan of Zidane and after seeing what Matterazzi did,my respect towards Zizou just grew even more.I understand what he did,but I believe that if he stayed and played the rest of the game he would win the tournament and leave Materazzi speaking to the walls like the asshole he is.The end of the tournament was a real close shot

Pff France would be worthless without their colonies! And that's not a racist remark, that's just the truth... Which players are actually French? Barthez and Ribery I guess, and that's about it.
Holland has been similar with their Surinam players as well, but not to such an extreme extent.

100% agreed. But we have loads of teams like that... At least half of german team speaks polish, for example... You can live with that if this team plays well, but I supported Italy anyway :kickass:

I think there should be a rule that a player should be born in the country he plays for or at least have that nationality for a minimum number of years. There's a large Surinam community in Holland and all Surinam players that used to play for the Dutch team (Seedorf, Kluivert, Davids, Bogarde..) were born here or at least lived here for the greater parts of their lives.

But these 'import' players should be banned, like Asamoah playing for Germany (he's from Ghana I think), a Brazilian player playing for Japan etc.. ridiculous.
