I have been experimenting a lot and I think I finally am getting closer to the type of tone I want but I would like my fellow sneapster's opinion on the tone and how well it fits the mix like this!

I made a little 50 second clip from one of our songs. It's not the most exciting part but I wanted to choose a section that had a couple different types of riffs, stopping riffs, palm muted riffs, cheesy melodic death riffs

This isn't the final recorded version, just trying to get an idea of guitar sound I want (we definitely need to redo that last held out chord and re-tune our guitars )

I'm having a bit trouble with the bass guitar too, I think it's a bit over powering, but I'm also having trouble getting a good attack out of it because our bassist uses his fingers instead of a pick.

But yeah any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Badass dude, a tad scratchy and a bit muffled, but overall I like it! The e530 has two mid controls, right? Have you tried experimenting with them both? Then again, the scratchiness on the palm mutes might be from pick technique, can't be certain...overall really coming along though dude!

Its not my e350 :)

But I agree about the tone, something I can mess with!

And btw, at this point I'm not looking for AMAZING PERFECT guitar tone anymore. I'll never be truly happy
I was thinking a lot about my favorite bands and how some of them, the guitar tone isn't godly but it doesn't really distract from the quality of the music.

I just want tone that's very usable, not annoying, and can fit into a mix pretty well.
My mixing skills are another story....Probably going to have some of my sound recording major friends here at college give me some help with that

Yo mang.

I'm liking this sound. Some of those held chords sound a little muffled, but when the rest of the mix comes in they sound really good.

Sick riffs too. :)
